Dr. Christine (Chrissie) Cirovic is a licensed naturopathic physician with an extensive background in both basic and social sciences. As an undergraduate at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she devised a concentration in health psychology, to further explore the oft-mentioned, “mind-body connection.” Upon completing a thesis on motivation, Dr. Cirovic graduated magna cum laude, finishing her undergraduate degree early to pursue premedical studies at Harvard University. After a brief diversion as a fitness consultant, and a 10 year stint in molecular biology and cancer research, she attended Bastyr University, where she earned her ND, with a special focus in mind-body medicine and nutrition. During her doctoral training, Dr. Cirovic maintained research involvement via a training grant from the National Institute of Health.
Dr. Cirovic strongly believes that good medicine consists of more than diagnosing and prescribing. Empathy, understanding, and education are central to her practice, and she aims to help empower her patients to take charge of their health. Her goal for every patient is improved health that continues beyond a quick fix, working with each individual to effect enduring change.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Cirovic can be found preparing tasty treats, reading (anything from young adult fiction to peer-reviewed journal articles), spending time with her sweet pooch, Hazel, working up a good sweat, or singing (though, truth be told, she may do a bit of the latter in office, too).
